Hi all,

The solar panels thread has produced a lot of interest from our membership.

http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/general-chat/14910-solar-panels-quantity-discount.html

What I now need is to know how many members will be interested in purchasing discounted Solar panels if they are at the right price.

So the general plan is to give our business to one supplier, each member will purchase from that supplier directly.
The supplier will require a minimum total order(s) before they ship the items. So we will all purchase in the same week to ensure there are no delays.

I think we can safely say the minimum order will be £100+ on average (my be less if someone just want a regulator).

So please vote in this poll if you are interested in this cheap solar panel offer. You are not going to be held to this I just need an idea of how many people may buy.

Thanks

Phil

I would be interested in this Phil
count me in .

I could take 2 to 4 at a time with repeat requests too.
Thanks Phil

I would be up for getting two with all the fittings and regulator.

Depending on price and what is available...and my bank account, I could be interested in panel and fitting kits

LOL theres always one. 1 vote for "Please do not use this option" :)

It's a pretty high level of interest :)

Let's hope you can find a supplier who'll give a healthy discount ...

solar panel

Hi I am new to wild camping, I have just purchased camper and am doing it up for wild camping for next summer, i would like to perchace two kits if thats ok.

I have full intentions of becoming a full member of wildcamping, but moment I am ploughing every penny into getting van up to scratch.

So would I still qualify to to purchase them or do i have to be a full member first ?

Kind regards Andrew

I voted yes.

Would be interested if the supplier will post to NI.

As far as I'm aware this will be open to all members. Phil, Site Admin, is presently approaching various suppliers to get a good deal.

Once that's in place, the supplier will take individual orders from members for whatever they require at an agreed price or discount.

Chris

Joan & I were looking at 2 x 130w panels fitted.

We have had a quote for £1000 all fitted and working. He measured our roof and said they would fit.

If we can get them cheaper then we will look at it seriously.

On 2 panels I allow £300 for panels against a total of £700 total install. Therefore if 2 130 watt ers could be found for less than £300 each? every pound less is a customer saving on your 1000 quote.

I am not sure I follow this.

Are you saying that you would expect to pay someone around £300 to install 2 x solar panels for you, including all the gubbins needed...plus parts of £700?

Which Panel is right for me.

Greetings. I am looking for the right solar panel. I envisage driving my van to a spot (Lake District) and not moving it for 2 -3 days at a time, using my moped/bike to get around. I need a decent solar panel to keep me charged up as long as possible without moving the Van. I'd much sooner have too much panel power than not enough so your advice is requested. Maplins etc suggest a 120W panel @ £748.00

120W Solar Motor Home and Boat Kit Free Delivery : Solar Motorhome and Boat Kits : Maplin

I believe what they advise to be true but is this price the best I can get? Has anyone used this panel? I have the cash and do want quality and good value for money.

Many thanks

Bernie

That seems a bit expensive Bernie

Conrad Anderson offered us that price fully installed and working for a 130w setup. We are contemplating 2 x 130w panels and they have quoted us £1000 up and running.
