John H, I read somewhere about your Mrs having treatment in Spain for something or the other. Which thread/post did you post on? Or if anyone else knows, I would appreciate it.

Talking with other Brits on this site and none of them bother to take out separate medical cover. They do get excellent medical treatment on the EHIC with no problem.

Please get in touch if you need any more info about our experience of the Spanish health system - it is all positive. If you are spending any length of time in one place (as I believe you are) then it is worth taking your EHIC and passport down to the nearest GP and registering so that if and when you need the service you are already in the system. Hope all is well and have a good Christmas.
