East Suffolk car parks

Campervan owners - we've listened to your concerns!
We've decided to relax the restrictions in 12 of our car parks to allow larger campervans and motorhomes (those exceeding 5.5m in length) to park there.
Our previous parking regulations meant that those with larger campervans and motorhomes (known in the parking order as ‘motor caravans’) were unable to use any of our car parks - we appreciated that this prevented people from visiting parts of East Suffolk.
If your campervan is more than 5.5m in length (but less than 8m), you can now park in any of these car parks: https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/.../larger-vehicles-and.../
If your campervan is less than 5.5m in length, you can park in any of East Suffolk’s car parks, within a marked bay.
Suitable vehicles are permitted to remain in council-owned car parks overnight but camping (i.e sleeping or cooking in vehicles) is not allowed.
The formal parking order will be revised in due course to reflect the changes to these 12 car parks.

Whats the point in staying in a carpark if you canny sleep or cook, only useful if shopping in a village.
You could book into a hotel for the night or play cards all night , perhaps these highly intelligent councillors should be informed that us humanoids need to spend 8 hours in 24 sleeping , that includes us motorhomers preferably at night .would it be ok to sleep in underpasses and shop doorways .

Think some of the wording in the no cooking and sleeping thing is all down to insurance and liability. I think they know that people will sleep and cook but they are covering there arses in case something goes tits up or they need the clause to move people taking the mick by staying for day’s or weeks.

That and having the rules in place to evict certain people if required

Be OK if that is the case perhaps someone will report back after trying a couple of nights anyone know what the charge is set at

Their carparks, their rules. At least it gives us somewhere to stop for a few hours instead of trailing around and parking in side streets. Not something I want to do or residents want to see.

This was part of their reply to my email enquiry so I don't think their just covering their asses

The off-street parking places are designed for the purposes of parking only. This was the case before the new Parking Order was implemented and will remain a condition of our parking places going forward.
Visitors wishing to use their vehicle for the purposes of sleeping and cooking will need to arrange to stay at a site that facilitates these activities, such as a dedicated caravanning and/or motorhome site.

i ask who the moderators are and it is removed, with the comment read the rules, what rules where?
