Marquis Dealerships

Has anyone any comments regarding Marquis as a company as we know Brownhlls have received a lot of flack in the past we are looking to buy again soon.

Only don't sign a contract to buy until you are 200 percent sure you are really going to buy.

Friend of ours was pushed into signing by being told there were several people after it so he paid a deposit and signed a contract to buy.

He then found a better camper layout a another dealer decided to go with that one instead so he signed a contract with them too.

He tried to cancel the Marquis one 2 hrs later and was told that he couldnt as he had signed.

He almost ended up with two campers but in the end it cost him over £3K to cancel his order with Marquis.

So advise is ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT and ONLY SIGN IF YOU REALLY WANT IT AND CAN AFFORD IT.

Not bought off them but visited them when we were buying our last MH. They offered to have an MH at a different showroom delivered for inspection if we paid a £200 deposit up front. We were told this deposit would be refunded if we didn't want the vehicle which, if there's no catch, seems reasonable enough. I found their screen prices a bit steep compared to other dealers - we saved 3k buying a lower mileage, better condition van elsewhere athough we didn't push hard on getting a lower price. The chap we spoke to at the Preston branch seemed pretty knowledgeable and there was no hard sell.

marquis

Freinds brought from northampton branch last year ,was very impressed with there service.

Try Camper UK, good family dealership where the customer is not a notch on a salesmans scoreboard!

I would agree with Peter, we use Camper UK for our Burstner Service although we did not buy our van from them , and they have been 100%.
When we are ready to change I would certainly try them first.
Why don,t you have a day at Lincoln Show and browse all the models on display?
Hope you find your ideal van.

Check the payload..

We bought our mh from Marquis Preston (they brought it from Poole) as we were travelling down from Edinburgh.

All paperwork stated 3500 payload - we didn't know enough to check (newbies) - when reg document arrived it stated 3400.
Contacted Marquis and after mucho to-ing and fro-ing they finally agreed to pay for uprating via SVTech. We fitted air suspension for a higher payload and Marquis duly paid £230 eventually.

There were a few other minor bits n bobs which we complained about but we were fed up with getting nowhere with them so we just sorted them out ourselves.

Doubtful whether we would buy from them again.
