Man kills giant rat!
A grandfather from England's northwest has captured and killed a rat so large that when he tried to lift it with the oar of his boat the paddle snapped under the creature's weight.

Brian Wilson killed the mega rodent with a piece of wood after it was spotted by his granddaughter's boyfriend near Consett in County Durham, Sky News reports.

"I came running around the corner. I managed to grab some wood on the way," Mr Wilson said.

"It wasn't very fast because it was that big at the back end I thought it was due to drop young ones, so I managed to kill it there and then."

Mr Wilson said he had never seen a rat so large in his life.

When he tried to scoop up the rodent with the paddle of his nearby boat the oar broke.

Mr Wilson said he left the rat's body where it was killed but when word began to spread that a “giant rat” had been slayed the grandfather decided to incinerate the rodent.

Some observers have said the animal is a copyu, also known as a river rat.

They also said they are searching for other members of it's family unfortunately one member is now living in 10 Downing street.
So watch out Cameron for the man with a lump of wood!

I was in London the other day and overheard 2 rats talking.

One was saying that wherever you happened to be at any time there could be a politician within just a few metres.

(probably in his second home on expenses of course)

That's close to the area where they found that French spy...

...and hung the monkey! :scared:

There are a few 2 legged rats in this country who need that piece of wood................:hammer:

This story sounds a bit odd to me.

Why destroy the evidence?

I think we all know a rat or two.

We had a guy in work who was pretty horrible, sneaky and obnoxious (no I didn't like him) and everyone used to call him the rat! and boy did the cap fit.
Then the puppet Roland rat came on the scene and his name changed to Roland.
He kept that name for 30 years until he retired. He's the only guy I can remember the guys didn't have a leaving party for.

Here's the original video clip. The head is wrong for a Coypu although there have been reports of Coypu recently. DEFRA said that Coypu were eliminated from the UK in the late 1980s

If it was a big as it appears why didn't they report it properly? There's something about this that doesn't quite add up

He killed it then left it for three days then made a bonfire for it. WTF?

I feel sorry for the alleged rat - it was in its natural environment, not in a house. I saw one in my back garden as big as a small cat once, but it was at the seafront, but only to be expected. Rats are much misunderstood.

WOW! 60 milion rats in the Uk? SO not all of them got in at the last election then?

I agree. I think I can smell a rat here. Or not as the case appears to be.:juggle:
