Also applies to us campervan users
Apparently as its classed as house hold waste.
Go figure.
I came across this in southern Ireland a few years ago.
Notices were placed on bins .
There were disposal bins which you had to pay to use.
We stopped over night in a rural park up arrived in the dark .
Took dog for a walk following morning .
I looked over a banking at the Fantastic view.
Only to discover it was a DUMPING GROUND .
100s of Carrier bags full of rubbish.
If I had done a litter pick I would have been at it for days.
Picture from
. A very nice young lady called Correl .
Full timer with a very good u tube channel.
Another Campervan Channel.

The date on the news article is 2012, but I gather that disposing of your rubbish in Ireland when you’re on the road is still a bit of a headache?

FWIW, I saw an article some time ago where a woman, being fed up with the litter strewn around her local area, went on a litter pick, dropped the collected litter in a roadside litter bin, and got a fine for her troubles. A quick search of the 'net suggests that several people have been fined up to £400 for doing a litter pick and putting the collected litter into a litter bin.

When CV started we had a real problem with cardboard waste.
We were ordering a lot of stuff and the volume was just too much for the recycling bin.
The local tip recycling centre said they couldn't provide appropriation separation for Clinically Extremely Vulnerable people (i.e. me) and that CEVs were not allowed to use their facilities.
I asked the local council what to do and they suggested burning the cardboard.
The local Fire Brigade ran a campaign saying not to burn cardboard and the council e mailed me to say that if I did burn it they would fine me.
I asked the council what I should do instead, and they said (in council talk) "Not our problem!"
I then told the council that the amount of cardboard I had stored was a health and a fire risk and I would be burning it on the next sunny day.

The very next day another guy in the area set fire to some of his excess cardboard in the garden,.
The fire got out of hand and spread to his garage and then his house
He had more cardboard in the house and this also caught.
The guy was trapped and sadly died.

That evening I got an email from the council.
They would supply and empty a second recycling bin
No charge.

Typical council jobsworths. Have our fair share here too. :(

Then they wonder why people fly tip. No ability to join the dots? 🤷‍♀️

Before covid we used to take a bin bag full to the local recycling centre. I think it was about 3.50 a bag back then.
Got fed up with remembering to put it in garage bins etc.....
