Ive got a autotrailer apache 700 - do I need some sort of device that makes it level. ??

hi. why bother so long as its not that bad your dinner slides off the plate or spills your wine. i think too many worry about being level. i say park up have fun. drive on again tomorrow.you could spend hours riding up yellow ramps or blocks of wood. try to find a flat area to park that helps after that give in . try to park so your shower drains easily . i like to park so i dont have to scoop water into the drain hole. have fun ,i do .cheers alan.

Yes, much nicer to have it reasonably level - for several reasons. Sleeping downhill doesn't suit everyone and eating your meat and three veg off the floor after the pans slip off the stove doesn't add much to the taste either.

Also your three way fridge works better if it is reasonably level. No need to go silly but within 3 degrees of level is OK. (that is about 4" difference side to side (of the van, not the fridge) so that is a fair bit). Less slope the better though.

mind you using a frying pan on a slope makes you use less oil to fry your eggs as it puddles on one side. best get used to a slope makes finding places others dont want to stop at much easier. we just spent a week in spain on a very steep slope .by careful positioning we managed to minimise the angles by parking across the slope and slightly down hill. was a really nice spot at tagle ,near soances up by santander. water on site as well.

Carry a pair of those yellow ramps - the larger ones - and that will give you enough adjustment for most places. I also carry a few short lengths of 6 x 1 pine to make small adjustments. Not worth it overnight but it is if we intend staying in the same spot for two or three days.

Put a brick under each leg of the bottom of your bed and see if you like sleeping in it.
