Mains electric problem with Electrolux RM 4505

Didn't expect to be looking for a solution so soon after a previous problem was sorted.
The fridge & freezer will work off gas, off the engine and when i'm mobile,but as soon as i plug mains in & turn gas off, the red light starts flashing & it has stopped working. I am presuming that because it will work off the engine that the 12volts DC side of it that is required for every part of the system is all ok. Anyone with any experience of a similar experience, your comments would be much appreciated. Cheers, Frankiep

Only suggestion is that the mains-voltage heater has gone open circuit (burned out) and the electronics have sensed it and given an alarm condition.

Does the blink rate have any significance. Perhaps the manual will advise.

Heater element on fridge

From several scources the main opinion appears to be (as you said) the fault looks like being the heater element. Until it's stripped down & checked out i wont know, but i'm going away next week, so i'll use gas for fridge & get it done when i get back ,off to sunny North Yorkshire. Thanks for your suggestion.
