Hi - i have found a big bundle of glossy magazines celebrating this event. My father collected them, as he worked in the print. Many of theses mags are no longer published. Auction houses dont want them as apparently no one wants to buy them anymore. They are in really good nick.

Does anyone have any interesting ideas as to how they might be of use to a person/organisation/fund raiser/ etc etc and who i could give them to?

Seamus might be interested.

put that tongue back in your cheek !!!!

actually someone locally suggested i might ask one of the care homes if some of theses magazines could be of use to stimulate dementia residents who often recall childhood stuff even though they dont know what day it might be ...... so i may go along there tomorrow and ask....

Flea bay as others have said if it does not go at a booty then flea bay it is unless you do find a good cause that could use them of course mind payment is better than monetary in my view, I cut items on a scroll saw portraits animals etc into pictures and give most away to charity shops or people that need a smile etc , just had a thought I wonder if my way of working is why I am soul rich but bank poor lol . Oh well im happy in my give away world .

Just remembered a friend of mine got the year of his birth newspapers and magazines printed from somewhere not sure where now he then wallpapered 2 of his office walls with them it looked good as well , may be a use to someone that wants a wall different to the local b & q stock.

Ask your local library if they would like them, then many others may enjoy them.

The suggestion of gifting them to a dementia project is excellent.Reminisce therapy is delivered in many ways, music, newsreels and papers as tools.

Royal memorabilia used to come into the auction house all the time, the owners convinced that they were sat on a fortune. Only when it was explained to them that in 'those days' the population loved the royal family and just about everyone would buy the mugs, the commemorative token et al, so, literally millions and millions of items were made and sold. Only the very rare items fetch money these days.

Delish, you can always doodle moustaches and glasses on the pictures! Well, that isn't as extreme as what seamus would do - royal toilet paper methinks!

Save you a walk, just scan and post on this forum, quite a sizeable qualifying
readership I'd suggest. Half wasted on myself though, I'll only be vacantly staring at
the photos :)
