i am in the process of purchsing a eldiss autostrouse with a petrol and lpg it a 1.9peugeot boxer what are the advantages of lpg as never used it before

the best bit is the fact it about half the price of petrol and unless you are into power :)
you won't notice the differance ..i have been running a LDV V8 on lpg and i only ever switch back top petrol if i run low on gas

My van is LPG/petrol and there is no difference between the gas and petrol as far as driving or power goes. The Mpg is about the same, so it is just the savings you make.

Phill, tge ?

I have a 6 berth Talbot 1995,2ltr (carb model)petrol with a conversion to LPG also, with switch over switch/heater,fitted brand new in Bulgaria, i have had no problems whatsoever, except wanting to add a gauge to know when nearly empty, speed or work power has not altered,no noise or smell.
In Bulgaria,it is saving me a fortune, especially when i drive into Greece or Turkey,as my gas is like 50 p compared to 1.50 euro petrol in Greece/Turkey and ( approx 1.10 a litre Bulgaria)
LPG is fantastic, dont know how available it is in UK or France/Germany etc,but Bulgaria its on every forecourt.
Just wondered how much it costs for a new set up with gas passport/handbook NEW and fitted (carb and injection prices would be good) to compare to BG and my garage, maybe a little entreprenaurism available for you all,and me ?!

can i run van on l p g all the time or do i have to balance it out

my last van was a 3ltr v6 petrol/lpg, bought alredy converted, once i had it tuned properly by a properlpg converter and had the proper safety measures fitted it ran like a dream, just left it on lpg and as above only switched over to petrol (and not for long, cost too much) when I was almost out of lpg. and she flew up and down the Cumbrian country side.

I got far more mpg for that old van than I do now for my present 2000 ducato.
i miss her

the van has it already fitted it was done by a profesional company and it has the certificate its first time ive had dealings with gas. the engine is a 1 .9 peugot petrol so hoping its going to cheaper to runthan my diesal1.9

Diesel used to be cheaper than petrol until enough folks were using it, then the government whacked up the tax...

I run a 240bhp 3.5l V6 Nissan Elgrand Japanese import MPV/Van on LPG as it will only do 14/20 mpg ... and I do 20/25K per year in it.

The only problems with LPG are the cost of conversion (no problem if already fitted), slightly increased service costs as the LPG side will need to be checked as well a the petrol ... and LPG is not as widely available as diesel/petrol ... which varies county by county and by locality.

ie ... Germany is very well served while Sweden has just 16 Autogas filling stations, the 5 closest garages to my house have Autogas ... If I travel to Manchester I have to fill before I leave otherwise I have to take a detour to fill up.
