Hi all can't get any lpg down here in the new forest Southampton area seems like there's a real shortage.anyone knowe of anywhere down here or near here where there may be any thanks in advance

Most places are out and have been for a while. The most likely place to get it is a gas distributor rather than a garage forecourt.

Thanks for the app suggestion. Just had a refillable gaslow fitted because we had problems getting bottles last year. Is there really lpg pump shortages now?

I must just be lucky as I always manage to get gas okay even shopping round on prices

4 attempts for me last week, finally got some at Esso Podimore Roundabout, Yeovil BA22 8JG on the second attempt, they just had a delivery. Seems a lot worse in the south. Now have a Flogas bottle on board as back up

Some of the stations in Italy will not fill LPG in motorhomes. An Esso garage refused to fill mine in Spring 2019 and pointed to a notice nearby. I contacted Gaslow in a panic and they told me the reason there might be a problem in Italy is because of the way they tax gas. It has a lower rate for automotive use than domestic use. The next day another garage sold me gas no problem. I just avoid Esso garages in Italy.

Morrisons Baglan (S Wales) was out of gas today and on checking fillLPG there are many sites in Wales and other areas with no stocks.

But why? I have tried some internet searches using various terms but could not find any recent news about the situation apart from some reports from last autumn when HGV driver shortages were a factor. Liquid Gas UK, the trade association for LPG suppliers, says nothing.

Can anyone shed some light?

LPG at garages everywhere in Italy, had no problems with filling Moho anywhere. Not sure why it’s such a problem in UK.

Anyone thinking of touring Scandinavia going from Sweden into Finland, don’t forget to fill your lpg tank(s) before crossing the border, Finland don’t have it. Last chance saloon is in Pitea near the top of the Bothnian Gulf.

Ok, technically Finland isn’t part of Scandinavia and should be referred to as one of the Nordic countries, but it’s Scandinavian af far as I’m concerned . Off point, but diesel in Finland gets dearer the further south you go, in Vaasa it’s around €2.30/ltr.
