It is possible I may be able to arrange a 5% discount on LPG kits for fitting yourself.
it works on both petrol and diesel but I believe the diesel kits are a lot more expensive.
the price I have been quoted for a basic kit for mine is £375 +vat which is incredibly cheap compared to other prices I have had [ and that is before the discount so I can take another 5% off now as I have arranged the discount already for another club I belong to].
While I have been in contact with the company and I am VERY impressed by their speed of reply and interest in me as a customer.
In addition I wanted a tank with a 2nd gas take off to supply the cooker etc in the van and while they do not do that they have suggested a system where that can be done. Again they are trying very hard to give me what I want and that is impressive as before all I have had is no can't be done.
how many would be interested?

i now have the quote and other details.
as far as insurance goes any kit supplied can be inspected and a certificate issued for £25.
my quote for the system I want is less than £55o inc vat. the cheapest quote i'd had up to then was £500 + vat and it didn't have the take off for gas that I wanted so I would have to carry 2 tanks.. all i will have to do now is swith back to petrol when the lpg goes down to 1/4 or we will be hungry
if anyone has a problem with insurance not accepting the conversion there is a link from their website to an insurance contact. a member from the beddy club has already contacted them to use the discount and the insurance offered is less than his present insurer and will accept bith the conversion and cert.
If you don't have the confidence to fit the kit supplied with a 20 page instruction book there is someone close by who can do it for a charge of course. they have agreed to expanding the discount to this club and I have e=mailed admin to let him know and sort out the details.
:D

Can someone give me any info on converting from diesel to LPG regarding costs etc. Thanks

LPG & diesel...

Just wondering how the LPG is to be ignited on a diesel engine?

The same way as Diesel. It injects around 25% LPG and gives:-

Up to 35% more power.
Up to 35% more torque.
Up to 40% better fuel economy.
Cleaner oil.
Up to 25% better fuel burn

I had no problems with insurance just had to send a copy of my cert it didnt even alter the price thats with flux

Hi Roi

My mate has just bought a petrol powered Elddis Autoquest and he is interested in the LPG conversion, DIY as he is a car mechanic.

LPG on a Talbot/C25 etc

If anyones looking for a cheap kit then www.no1gear.com/ has a 2nd hand one for sale at £300 I've not got the money this month to buy it :( but I've found with a few places I've phoned that they will not fit a unit that you supply no doubt they make a bit of money off the kit as well as fitting it. Roi could you drop me some details please ;)
