LPG / Autogas in Spain & Portugal

Trying to help a friend who's off to S&P for 6mths. Does anyone have an up-to-date list of POI's for a Garmin, he has no computer but I can upload his sat-nav! (I have found a VERY comprehensive list of 20,539 outlets covering ALL of Europe, but don't want to fill his memory with countries he'll never visit!) Thanks... hopefully!

I cant help with the POI file, but if you goto LPG & CNG Tankstellen (menu) use the * wildcard to get all towns, it gives you the option of choosing countries and then getting an address list - Spain has very few so its not an enormous document to be printed out, Portugal is similar.

The site that Roger mentions is probably the most comprehensive one around but a word of warning - all the information about LPG in Spain originates from the Repsol website (virtually all outlets are run by them) and the locations listed are not very accurate. Some have long since moved or closed down and the co-ordinates for others are completely wrong. If you give me an idea of the proposed route I can perhaps give you details of outlets I know.

Spain is really the only country you will have problems in - because there are so few outlets. Portugal has a much better coverage and you should be able to find an outlet without any information - just ask the locals. Incidentally, ask for Autogas, not LPG.

Hi Nosha, as he has no computer, maybe the hand book "All the Aires S&P" might help him, it has a basic section at the back for LPG, but also gives him a few options for Aires should he be looking for places to stay as well, Vicarious books sell it, its not bad as a back up if your stuck

We agree very good source for LPG in Spain which is hard to find
