Morning All.

I'd be interested to hear from you guys what you think about longterm wild camping. I've been offered a research job when I retire (contradiction in terms I know) that would require me spending anything from two to six weeks in
towns and cities of the EU. Someone is already a year into doing the same job in the UK and is about one third done. Home advantages there, of course.

My trip would not preclude the occasional relaxing stopover at a campsite or even small hotel for a bit of luxury now and again. The research budget is tight but I'd be happy to spend a couple of quid here and there of my hard earned pension. There will be opportunities for meeting up with grandkids in the hols etc., etc., so I won't be entirely nose to the grind stone.

Motorhome will be a medium sized, all mod. cons. left hooker. I'll have my dog for company, and of course communication and entertainment electronics. I'm keen on a bit of armchair sport and R4 and books and of course I will be writing up my research so I don't envisage being any more bored than I might be on a wet Sunday in Blighty.

What think you, oldtimers?

sounds good to me would be an interesting thread as time goes on
about long term issues when camping on a full time basis

I would go with your gut instincts, if it feels good and you want to do it, then go for it!:cool:
If not don,t, but if you don't you will never know how it would have worked out:(
