LOL Means lots of love

It did used to mean Lots of Love in the SWALK days before texting and the internet. And to be fair to Cameron, I think it still would if used in context at the end of a message before the signature:

eg LOL (Laugh out Loud / Lots of Love)

So I reckon the laugh is on Brooks for not interpreting the old meaning as correct in the right context!

(PS Do you think Dave has a mini crushie on Brooks as well as on Nick ;-) ? )

The Chinese are experts in cooking dogs. I had a friend from Hong Kong who did describe the process to me once. Twice cooking is a popular method to get rid of various bacteria. Somehow I could never eat a dog though, they are too close to humans in character!

I would starve rather than eat my hound...._

With my living off the land where I can, the local dish thread, and this one..
All fascinating ideas.

The Asians may eat dogs and cats and rats ...normal to them, I find the whole concept of what we eat absolutely fascinating....

I have a friend who was an electrical boffin that did some work in a remote part of China...they had a civic reception in effect for him because he was in their eyes the electric god...

They gave him sheeps eyes to eat....the significance of "seeing" a problem.

He confessed no chew downed with a shot of vodka..

I think it is important that as alien as some things are to us ....we have tolerance of other cultures.

I love all this

Did you know that lol means lots of love.
Well it does acording to David Cameron

Well, what do you expect from an Eton education - bound to be 100 years out of date! Probably still thinks that slavery is legal!

Well it is a public school ? Surely that means peasants too ????

Don't you mean pheasants? I wouldn't think that Cameron and his cronies ever think about anything less than the toffee-nosed life!

You are way out of date somelier.

Slavery is still here. lol sorry lots of love

I went to a Bulgarian birthday party and the starter was tripe soup !
As I ate it so fast to get rid of it they loaded me up with more ! God I do not like tripe soup but my Bulgarian mate eats it for breakfast as a hangover cure with lots of vinegar and pepper !
Watched them at xmas killing the pigs as my mate says xmas translates to them as the pigs funeral ! lol
similar thing happened to me in Hong Kong but with chickens feet, they thought I liked them so kept bringing me more, the funny thing though is that i did eventually like them.

How did this thread go from "Lots of love" to eating dogs?

Oh I get it now.

If Cameron has his way it will be the only meat we can afford. lol

It still shows that Cameron is out of touch of the language currently used. Howe can you exist in a society and not know how the people speak? it just goes to show his upbringing was very different from ours, thus has no idea how the poor or less well off in this country live.

I have wondered if Brooks, Cameron and his wife are attracted to the swinging lifestyle lol

Well the Greeks are going that way ? lol
When I was in Spain there were some that feel that way for sure !
The Spanish resent the load all the retired Brits put on their health service and how we pushed up their house prices so the youngsters over there could not buy property so I guess the answer to the problem is not as simple as it first seems as you would have to take back all ours that live abroad too!

Bas I know what you are saying but it's not just the retired Brits, there are many different Europeans.

It's a bit of a cheek the Spanish critisizing retired brits when the Brits spend millions as tourists and those retired Brits also spend millions over there.
