I just left there 2 days ago,I spent 4 nights in the main carpark as the man entrance was closed from flooding,it's a great location, especially for dogs.

That’s one of Gordon the Lairds great finds he’s organised a few meets there in the past and one coming up at end of the month. Looks like they’ve done a bit of work and made it more Motorhomes friendly great to see. Hope there investment in these new facilities pays of for them and the word gets out to other councils thinking of welcoming Motorhomes might be a good investment.

Was anything said to you regarding the toilet elsan point (ie don’t put solids etc down ) it has been choked !

Yes but we were confused by what exactly was meant.
We did put the contents of our cassette in, which included toilet paper.
Also the girl told us it’s linked to a septic tank, when I pointed out that some chemicals can damage it, she looked puzzled. The boss was not there to confirm this. Also we were told to use the chemical waste point for grey water. But having to elevate the hose meant that this would not work. I considered using the drain below the freshwater tap, but decided to empty when we got home. I think some clarification is required on these points. But we Liked the place, and we intend to return in summer.

Apparently nappies ,sanitary towels were getting put down and blocked it ,then some idiot from the council who was working there tipped concrete down and partially blocked it again,Ian has tried in vain to get this resolved
I presume you know about the four night stay and fifth one is free ,the four nights can be spread over a period of time not all at once
regards Gordon

Yes we know about the fifth night.
We I tend taking our grandson there in summer.
They had issues with flooding the Motorhome park only became available on Thursday. Great modern cafe and very reasonable prices for food and drinks.
Buses outside for lots of destinations.

Gordon if you look at the sign in the picture I posted it clearly states no paper or sanitary products. That’s were the confusion came.
Also we use green chemicals for the toilet, but if as they girls said it uses a septic tank, then blue chemicals will damage it. Also using the chemical waste point for grey water won’t work due to having to elevate the hose. I will email them for clarification of these issues.

Just got this reply from the manager at Lochore.
I have removed his name an contact details for obvious reasons.

Thank you for your e-mail and your kind words.

I will answer your 3 observations in the same order you have laid them out.

We very recently had to have the disposal point jet washed at a cost of £186. The fourth time in the last 12 months. The offending articles on this occasion were 3 lids from waste containers, a beer tin and a wad of sanitary towels. These are the paper products we are referring to but on reflection the signs could be made clearer.

We accept that the disposal point, whilst suitable for some motor homes is not suitable for all. I am trying at present to fund the creation of the type seen in European aires where all motot hoes can park over a drainage point and all waste is dealt with. That in the world of local authorities is a major expenditure when the purse strings are still held tightly but we will keep trying.

There is no septic tank. The drains interconnect with a network of drains for the whole park which extend into the village mains which then go for treatment. I do not know the finer details of drainage and water treatment but the sheer volume of chemical agents flushed by humdreds of homes will make our minimal deposits of blue chemicals pale in comparison.

We will look forward to your future visits and in the meantime we will be striving to make additional improvements to the facility.

Kind Regards,

Hope you and the mrs are doing ok peter ,stay safe and well might see you sometime this year
all for now gb to pj 👍
