Was directed to this place to see if they could repair a cracked aluminium wheel off my van. Met Aidan who had a look and said no problem but he wasn’t welding any ali until the next day. The job is a fixed price which is currently £40. Left the wheel and contact details with them.

Got a call next morning just after 11 to say the wheel was done so went and picked it up. Excellent job done on the wheel and Aidan was confident is should last saying sometimes the Chinese wheels don’t last after welding but the MB ali should be as good for years to come.

I saw some of the stuff this company was making while I was there and their workmanship is top notch, a beautifully bent and welded flying bridge for a boat out of stainless and stainless insulated tab,s, big stuff like brewery’s use. They do a lot of custom work for automotive and marine so if in the area and you need anything these are the guys. 👍

Flying Bridge or Radar Arch Neil?

Whichever, sounds like somebody went under a low bridge at a guess?

When I said bent Rob I didn't mean damaged, bent with a pipe bender then welded. As to if it was actually a flying bridge I don't really know much boat terminology so could have been called something else

No I know what you meant Neil, I meant I was guessing the one it was replacing had been smashed off by a low bridge.

A fly bridge is an area where you sit above the cabin and steer the boat, a Radar Arch is a usually stainless steel structure to hold the electronics for Radar detection/reflection etc.

In the picture the radar arch is the tubular stainless steel structure and it is mounted on the fly bridge ie. the structure with the chairs in it.

Ah right, it could have been that then Rob, I can't remember exactly what it looked like now. The quality of the stuff you could see though was real top notch stuff
