i did read, I think on this site, that there were plans for restrictions. But has it happened yet?

You might be ok in a car park. I think the ban is on the other side of the loch along the west highland way? It was on the local news a few weeks ago and also in the press. The usual weekend yobs littering and destroying things has ruined it for the more responsible wilders!!!

Overnight Loch Lomond

Dont know if this ok or not however before you get that far along the loch after Luss about half way along you will find on the right hand side overlooking the loch about three or four parking bays a couple of them behind tree's one even has a larger parking space behind the bay you have to pull off to find it it is not visible from the road just looks like a normal bay, easy to do and if not suitable just pull back on to main road.

on main road second luss sign on your right .there is a very long lay-by set back from road .you can see loch lomond and its a short walk to luss .
if you take the old luss road were you come back on to main road turn right then its left .always make this our first stop on way up north from home

just look out for the duck bay hotel and turn there then follow road around loch it is a long layby where vans overnight, we was there last sept and there was about 7 vans overnighting, or go past tarbet follow the loch and on the left is a forestry carpark we have overnighted there. across the road right next to the loch there is a place where you could pull in, but it depends if there are people camping next to water, usally weekends they come from the cities carrying packs of cheap lager on the pretex of fishing they destroy all the wooden signs for firewood and don't have anymeans of toilets so be carefull when walking. those are the ones they are trying to ban.
