LOcation finding tips needed

I’m sure the info is on the forum somewhere but I can’t find it:
What are the top tips for finding a site in the UK that is suitable for wildcamping with a motorhome that’s 7.0 mts plus , assuming of course you don’t have access to this great forum on the road .
I’ve downloaded the WC POI’s but experience so far tells me that some of the POI locations noted might well suit smaller, more manoeuvrable and less conspicuous motorhomes but not the bigger units that stand out a mile.

Are there areas that are best to head for when your on the road e.g nature reserve car parks, smaller villages , pubs ?

What areas do you avoid like the plague and why ?

hard question to answer .pubs can be ok. ask first. nature reserves usually dont want you. small villages ok. layby,s carparks .grass areas on country byroads. use ordanence survey maps look for woodland car parks. busy towns in carparks ,industrial estates . these can be excellant on weekends. very often its looking for layby,s on old roads .not busy mainroads. keep your eyes open allthe time ,you never know where the next good place will be. dont stay too long as it spoils it for another time. railway stations airports all give good places if you are desperate. leisure centres. hope it gives you some ideas cheers alan
