Lights in Hymer

Yipppeee picked up the Hymer today and drove it the 60 miles home and am very pleased with it. By the time we got home it was dark so haven't had a chance to play with it yet. But I do have a question. It seems like I either have all the lights on in the living area ....or off. They don't seem to have individual switches. Is this right? It's a b544.

Fit rocker switches to each light and a remote control switch behind main switch which will let you go to bed and switch of there.
Thats the way i built my led units.

I have a 2002 B584 and the lights are on individual switches, on the entrance where the step switch is there are two switches, one is the main ones either side of the rooflight, the other is the door entrance light, two spotlight/reading llights above the single bed/bench with built in switches and another switch on the light above the table, one more switch on the light in the kitchen area, are you sure you are not switching the 12v switch off on the control panel, if all the other switches are on then switching the 12v switch off would switch them all on or off at once

It will already have individual switches Trev, he will just have to find them

I thought that it would be perfectly normal for a vehicle owned by your goodself to treat every lamp equally...:D

Still a good idea to fit a remote behind main switch so once in pit you can put the last candle out, and on if you require the wee room at night.

Tez, you will find all the switches on the Left, they wouldn't dare sell you a defective MH with switches to the Right.

P.S. The switch to the W.C. is to the Extreme Left.

Enjoy your new toy, I hope it brings you years of joy. Any chance of some pics?

No there are roof lights and spot lights and none have switches , well not anywhere near them. The cooker hood light is the only one I can turn on separate . I have the book that came with van when new and it doesn't mention lighting in there grrrrrr.

Thinks maybe I should have got a left hander? Yes I'll get some pics beginning of the week. Whilst it's still clean lol.

]roof light switches are normally just inside the entrance door
my 584 has 3 switches there..electric step, light for the entrance and main roof lights

Hi Terry.
On my B544 the main light switch is above the cupboard as you enter the van. On this switch is a large square toggle switch below the oblong step and kitchen light switch, that is the main switch. I have not found any other way of switching the main light off. On one side above the divan mine has a fluro with a rocker on the end. Over the table under the high level cupboards are to spots each with a small rocker switch. There is a fluro for the pull down bad with a switch on the end. In the shower room is a small rocker switch under the bathroom cabinet. Again inside above the door on the tanks/battery gauges is a switch for the outside door light.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that...I will go look in the morning and see if mine is the same. I will take pics if their different and post here. Thanks again.

Hi, just checked all again and you were spot on. And mine are the same as yours. I should know better than to try and do things when I'm tired and it's dark lol. But I think I will put a couple of the 5 mtr led strips to try and save the battery's a little.
Thanks for help and a couple of pics if interested. ( just want to show him off though is the real reason hahaha)

You really must take off the blinkers and open your eyes more and see the wider picture ;)

Nice looking van Terry. I especial like the immigrant transportation ladder/roof rack device!

When are we starting the B544 owners club?
