Love the Highlands. Hate midges.
Any reduction can only be good news.

it sounds really good news:D..all welcome to come to Scotland:eek:..but please look after the area as in some areas of the queen elizabeth national park from loch lomond to the trossachs..they are banning wildcamping..:mad:

that is sad news.you will always get the few people who ruin it for everyone.
what about tarbet in the car pak beside loch lomond ?

So thats it then I'm avoiding Scotland this year its going to be teeming with tourists.:D:D:D:D:D

The trouble is that the Midge forecasters are just as bad as the Weather forecasters.

I wonder if they get big bonuses as well. Maybe paid per Midge.

When will you sassenachs ever learn?

When 1 midgie dies 10,000 come to the funeral, and that IS a fact!:p

Only safe place in the Highlands is in the sea: midgest are reputed not tolike salt water or sand! I know-a midge confided that to me on Ran noch Moor one July night it never went on holidays to the coast.
I awa to Tobermory and Mac Donald's. :D

Yippee!

We are jsut about to book our ferry to the Orkneys-we ordered Skin So Soft yesterday.

However I do remmember doing the West Highland Way-many years ago-bloody midges! Also Kelder has them very bad-another place etched in my memory for midges-yuk.

Less midgies this year is just a ploy to get more tourists ( sassenachs! ) to go to Scotland so the midges feast on them instead of the natives.

Won't stop us though, we're still up the west coast in may, motorhome heaven!! :D
