LEISURE BATTS

Personally, I wouldn't chance it.
I'm not coming from any technically know how but purely from caution. Yes, Temu are cheap and some items are pretty good but some items are total crap.
I've stayed well clear of anything electrical from Temu because I value my life over cost.

Never bought any so im wondering are they old school round cells or the new flat pack units now used, price is king mind you.
Price is king? Where is the bargain deal when the battery fails after a couple of months? Good luck getting any warranty from Temu :) Saved a bit of money but you have ******d your trip away and will end up paying over the top for a replacement battery to let you continue.

Your all probably right ,although there are some well known makes .I made a note of the serial numbers and compared prices with halfords but as you say what if it fails and ive got to take it back even if it has a 2year warrantee.

Correct i would not buy of temu, best to go where a warenty is. (y)

How important is a few quid saving , buy local so it's easy too return ,halforde have a good return reputation but not the cheapest , the number of thefts from door step delivery is rapidly rising, ,
There are cheaper battery trade shops if you hunt them out, go dressed in work rags, you may save from 10 to 30% on batteries, halfords are dick turpins and wont know what a lipo 4 battery is and just try and sell you a so called less battery.

I had two leisure batteries one failed ,they must be about 8/10 years old so i`ll try alpha. when the weather improves and i get the van ready to go away. I need two so that when i run one down i swop them over. Thanks all.

Why not connect all up together, saves fafing about and both will be full charged from engine and solar if you have that.

I got two of these. They are supposedly better for off grid than the cheaper ones and there isn't much difference in price. They have been pretty good so far. I'm not sure if its a marketing ploy from Alpha or not as you would think a 120ah battery is a 120ah battery but for the price of a full tank of diesel you can't go wrong really.

Fogstar do a dumb lithium 100a so a usable 95 a for £150 with Bluetooth for easy monitoring £175 , so they’re now comparable to a conventional lead acid but lighter and more usable amperage, but your 120A lead acid is only giving you 60 A ??? If your absolutely wedded to old tech a 160a lead carbon would be about the same price as 2 x 120 same sort of size though taller and would let you access 85% of its amperage still far more than your 120a pair combined

You really can't just automatically drop in a lithium battery into a setup though.
Say you did do this on a typical older motorhome when the battery died .... Your chargers will not charge them correctly and could easily be overloaded and could actually be dangerous. The 'battery monitor' you are used to using will tell you the battery is always 100% full until it suddenly dies as it is based on Voltage only.
The cost of switching to Lithium is more than the battery itself.

Have you thought about connecting two batteries in parallel?
That way both get charged at the same time and so need to swap in/out.

Both batteries should be same type / make/ capacity / age.
