I fancy going to Le Touquet for some Xmas shopping. I've been the by car for the same and enjoyed it staying at hotels.

Whats the deal taking the MH?

le touquet

3 aires @ le touquet the one by the boat yard is the best .

It's pay and display as well (9e for 24 hrs) so don't think it will be closed, maybe the water will be turned off.

as I recall the one at the airport was free and is adjacent to a large motorhome retailer

Channa

Is it Le Touquet that has the Vernicular Railway that carries you up from the Beach to the Cliff top and that you operate yourself, great bit of kit, or am I getting confused with another French Stopover nearby ?

The aire at Embry is worth a look. Only 6 Euros and much much nicer than Le Touquet aires. Very close to Le Touquet for shopping trips and has a facility block on site too.

We've stayed at the aire in Le Treport a few times, it was a pay one kept very tidy. We have also parked on the top of the cliffs as well, nice in the summer but very exposed if the weather is bad.

Le Touquet to Le Treport is about 60 miles.

Yes. I didn't think it was far away, we used both Aires whilst on our wanderings, there was a fish and seafood fair on the Quay near the Funicicular when we were there, promoting fresh fish and shellfish as if it needed promoting, it was there that I tried my first Oysters, I had steered away from them before but decided to give them a try and as they were offering tasters free I had a go, delicious, I am now hooked on them.:wave:

Paris plage...

Always liked the aire by the port at Le Touquet. Beach is seconds away and the walk in to Le Touquet along the beach is lovely.

Spent a very happy afternoon chatting and feeding and watering an 80 year old French gentleman. Not a word of English bless him but a real appetite for the white chianti I had bought in San Gim. Whilst a bit tiddly and proclaiming the merits of this "French" white he began singing songs from WW1 much to the amusement of the Dutch and annoyance of the Germans either side of us. A true Frenchman he regaled us with how their health service was better than ours and how he had been fitted with a pacemaker! No need for Viagra, he said, it's adjustable...

Then his wife and daughter dragged him away by the ear, they had been looking for him for 5 hours and the children in the swimming pool had become bloated; never knew what became of him, I can't imagine what mischief he could be getting up to... Watch out for him, he's priceless.

Love it and Le Touquet ahhhh Sumer holidays!

I'm fairly sure it was Le Touquet where we got a parking ticket as MHs are not allowed anywhere along the long seafront.

According to " All the Aires France" 3rd Edition, the Airport Aire was confirmed closed when inspected in 2010. Anybody tried it since 2010?
