Lavender in Provence

Is anyone down in Provence at present and can tell me if the lavender is out yet? Best areas would be appreciated.

We came down from Claviere heading for Narbonne. Think around Sisteron ?

Was there a few weeks ago [in June] , seem to remember seeing lavender ?

We specifically went over to Narbonne to see it in May, but although we saw the fields it wasn't quite in flower

The best time apparently is between the end of first week in July and the end of July depending on the area.
I just wondered if it was early or late this year.

from Nyons , where they process the lavender , its a nice drive up to Montaulieu ,a tiny 'village perche . behind the church is a road/track which takes you into the lavender fields . good place to sit with a cuppa now's a good time to visit , and if it gets too hot , there's a shallow river in NYONS and a deeper one up the road in Buis les Barronies
