Latest news on Barra camping:
UPDATE ON BARRA.The airport site is being/is coned off by bollards and this is a pity because it was was the most popular with outstanding views, but don't be put of by this, plenty of other places to park up for the night.
A representative for the council asks that if possible that you use a "green" remedy such as a laundry washing tablet to breakdown waste in the toilet cassette and this will give you a bigger choice of places to empty.
Barra is open for business as in other years and you will be welcomed by the locals. At a recent meeting in Barra on camping and M/H and Campervans a number of crofters showed interest in opening up their land to us but I don't think that it will happen this year, - but a site by one of the locals seems a probability for the 2010 season once planning permission is obtained, no details on this at the moment.
