oooh err....think i might give it a miss........dont like hills especially steep ones........wimp i amJust watch out for the one in four hill that gets you up there..
Our elderly Transit gearbox never really got over the experience, 20 years ago.
You might be better off taking the longer route, via Langstrothdale.., If
my memory serves me well..
ok...come spring may give it a go mistericeman.........i can imagine the beauty of the area........seen on tv how folk can get snowed in up there in winter.....exciting...what.....Way up from Langthwaite is fine..... Its only the route up from Keld that's at all bad.... And even that isn't undoable
Don't let it put you off from visiting an area (and pub) that are so well worth a visit...
Stunning views, good beer and food.... At a park up where your pitch fee goes to help a fantastic friendly local community in a beautiful part of the world....

OOOOo...that sounds interesting..........................another place similar....THE LION INN at blakey ridge north yorks moorsTan hill say in there advert come and visit us this Christmas
But beaware they are not actually open Christmas Day so take you own food and booze
There is actually a third way up to Tan Hill from the A66 just near Stainmoor or from Kirby Stephen. I dont remember any massive hills on that one but its been a few years since Ive been that way. Word of warning though if you do go up for Christmas, if it snows you could be there until the Spring.
But yes, avoid route from Keld (Silver Hill) I think its called.
