Many motorhomes park up here for must of the winter with out any problems. But this is possibly going to end and made into a 3 day only stop over because a local resident of La Mariner has complained to the Council that were she has been taking her dog walking each day she has found that some person has emptied there loo over the sand dunes just across the road and down the storm drains. The Council has now involved the police.

It only takes one idiot to ruin it for all

Bad news

In my travels, I have seen many a Spaniard emptying their toilets into the sea. This year, at Rincon de le Victoria (near Malaga) at 07:30 the Spaniard parked right next to me, took his canister across the sands, followed by his Mom and dumped it into the sea. So perhaps, it is not the Brits who do this sort of thing after all.

I never said it was the brits doing this when i was there 2 weeks ago i also saw a Dutch van dumping it down a storm drain and at that time i only saw one British van there,

It is unfortunate that we are all classed the same as far as any residents are concerned. There will always be problems in staying in areas without any suitable emptying facilities for extended periods, by only allowing you to stay 3 nights then you should be able to manage without causing problems.

BTW where is La Mariner? or do you mean La Marina near to Elche, we have stayed many times but thought that there would be problem after they demolished the toilets. Last time we were there we stopped at the other end of the beach where there used to be a campsite. Although we didn't need to empty I would have thought that there would be a manhole to the sewer somewhere around.

No worry's Have a nice Christmas to you both :king::king:

It is behaviour like this that labels us all as pyriahs.

The sad thing is the people involved are probably not part of any forum where they can be awakened to the fact their attitude/ behaviour is not conducive to promoting motor homes.

Probably sat now in there detached gaff working out the next place they can visit and display total disregard to the correct thing to do ..

As a fulltimer this arrogance really annoys me, Leave with just your memories etc

La Marina Jan 2012

We are heading down to La Marina, hopefully for a couple of nights of wilding. Looked today and there are probably 40+ motorhomes currently on site, several Brits included. We prefer to mix our trip with campsites and wild camping - campsites allow us to empty waste and recharge batteries along the way. We walked the beach and there was no sign of loo-emptying on the beach but some of the vans did look fairly well entrenched. There is a loo emptying facility down the road at the International Campsite so absolutley no excuse for such horrific behaviour! We are looking for some more aires as we follow the coast down to Portugal, any help welcome! This is our second trip out - last time did six months, 12 countries including a very interesting journey down to Marrakech! Another 3 months or so left on this trip and looking to re-balance our budget with some good wild spots as Christmas was a bit expensive!!

Glad to here that La Marina is still ok, like to stop a couple of nights there as we have always found it to be very quiet. Should be passing that way in about 2 weeks time. :D

Torre del mar is no problem at the mo...water and dump, town & market on your doorstep.
