Hope this helps when you get into La Liner head for the fish port keep Gib on your right when you get to the beach turn left as if you were going away from Gib go a long the coast it,s not marked up as a camp site but as a sports ground after tuning left its about 15 drive. if you find that at the end of that road there is a bar on the beach you have gone past it. we have stopped there some times nice place easy to walk onto Gid 20min. Or you can wild it by that bar:have fun::cheers:

A free camp alternative is on the frontier just outside Gib. The police have generally been tolerant for the last 2 or 3 years. It's where 90% of campers stay.
The only public site is La Casita about 6km from Gib on the eastbound road out of la Linea just as it joins the Rn 340.
The campsites Kenspain mentions are on the road to Marguerita Bay.

That campsite is only 20 min walk into Gib Its run by the home for disable Adults

we always stayed just outside gib on the wasteground, entertained by a stream of scallies jumping over the wall by the customs shed and legging it into la linea clutching sleeves of cheap fags.cops never let me drive in cos i never had tax.the gypsies used to flag down tourists and tell them there was a bomb scare on gib and no cars were allowed, then charge them for guarded parking amd bag carrying.quite a lively place

The pay campsite along the beach road leading to Marguerita Bay is run by the disabled assoc. Asansull. Only runs to about 10 placements large enough for a motorhome the rest is really for tents.
The tobacco smuggling carries on the frontier as it always has, in these hard times its even more prevalent, most people consider it as just a bit of sport. The reason many Brit campers linger a few days on the Frontier, is to get their baccy share!

don't know if much has changed but there were some "interesting"nightclubs in la linea where young sailors could further their education..as i said a lively place, nail everything down!

Ahoy there...

So <gets notepad out> where are these places a sailor can further his education

button up your bell bottoms, set your cap at a jaunty angle, have a lot to drink and set sail through the streets about 1am. they'll find you and show you the ropes no worries!

If you dressed like that in La Linea these days they'd think it was fancy dress, they never see much sign of uniformed British armed services nowadays. Better to wear a 3 cornered hat and paint "Guardia Civil" on your Y fronts.
I wonder if anyone remembers the nightclub in Gib called El Polverine, all military personnel were banned (morally corrupting it was reckoned).
As a civvy and wishing to avoid the enivitable punch ups in the bars/clubs frequented by the military, I was often to found in El Polverine being corrupted.
When the Spanish closed the frontier with Gib for several years and the USA 7th Fleet came in to Gib for a bit of R & R from time to time, it was errr a little even more lively, 6 or 7 thousand sailors restricted to little ol' Gib.
