KS Energy 120ah Lithium Leisure Battery. This is a ‘drop in’ replacement for a lead acid leisure battery in your motorhome or caravan. (I know technically nothing is really ‘drop in’ but this has worked perfectly in my motorhome since it replaced the lead acid battery with no change to the charging system.) New in June 2021 and has done about 25 cycles so loads of life left. Comes complete with a Victron Smart Shunt 500a so can be monitored by Bluetooth. Only selling as I have fitted a 300ah lithium battery. Prefer collection from my home in Liverpool but can deliver for cost of petrol or meet up somewhere. Could probably be sent by courier but I would prefer you to organise this if needed. Contact me for any further information
I am hoping for £350 but open to sensible offers

I had the same Battery fitted in July 2021 and upgraded it in February 2024. I sold the KS Energy for £60 with about 35 Cycles recorded!

Someone got a bargain. Got to be worth a lot more than that. The shunt alone is worth £50
Tell you what ... the Victron Shunt is the best bit of your Battery-Shunt Combo!
I am thinking of asking Steve for a refund on my "bargain" :)

(I don't tend to comment on 'For Sale' listings, but I have been in conversation with a old customer who wants to upgrade to Lithium and he has been finding BRAND NEW Premium Brand Lithiums for sale on eBay for around £220, so a used KS one ..... ? He is also buying a Brand New SmartShunt for £60. Sorry :( )

Fair enough. I have no idea what it’s worth I just guessed at about 1/2 the purchase price of the battery & shunt. Like I said I am open to offers. Worked perfectly for me while I had it so no complaints about KS from me

2-3 months ago, on a competitor Forum, brand new 105Ah batteries were available for £174.99. Everyone now wants 460Ah Lithiums to run the George Foreman Grill + Freezer and the twin Induction Hob offgrid [slight exaggeration, but the tone is about right!], and the price of the 460Ah has dropped [think there is now a 560Ah version?] to 'affordable' levels, which makes the older, smaller capacity batteries less attractive. I think RugbyKen made a Thread on the price per Ah of Lithium Batteries in late Summer 2024

I installed the 560Ah Fogstar on Pats Adria Twin a couple of weeks ago. For anyone interested, it is actually a perfect fit in the Gas Locker if the bottles are either being removed or replaced by underslung ones.
At the moment it feels like Lithium batteries are getting into the "Moores Law" area ... Getting cheaper and bigger all the time. Definately not something to "invest" in, but just to buy if you need them right now.

I had no idea what it was worth when I advertised it so happy to take offers if anyone is interested in it

There's a US youtuber who tests and strips down Lithium batteries, some are shockingly built, but a recent 100Ah was well built and some US websites are selling them for $94!

I would have liked a larger battery David, but as you know I was limited to installing two 100ah lithiums. But these batteries are a game changer. On a recent 6 night trip without EHU and dull weather, whilst using an inverter I finished with 27% capacity. This would simply not have been possible with lead batteries. In the summer months I never went below 80% no matter how much power I used.

I have been looking at getting a 120 lithium to do a direct swap for the lead acid, but the price of lithium seem to be all over the place, some makes seem to be more than double the price of others,
So I find it confusing as to why such a large difference in prices,
But I have also noticed that they do seem to be getting cheaper

Like the OP I too have invested in a 300AH Lithium (Fogstar). I have also gone with Victron for MPPT, B2B Etc. mainly because they are the best. They have indeed come down and as Richard says prices are a bit all over the place at the moment.

For me though, It is the right time to change over and no matter what happens in battery technology development, or solar or chargers it doesn't matter. As far as I'm concerned this should be the last battery (and associated equipment) I ever buy and will suit my needs until I give up campervanning.

(Not strictly true because I may buy a second 300AH if I deem it beneficial).

Yup, the space you had was pretty awkward to fit anything but a pair of batteries.

Isn`t it strange how attitudes change

A short while back inverters were almost classed as the devil incarnate but now with Lithium they are turning into the must have best thing since sliced bread :)

I must admit Graham, I've become a bit addicted with the possibilities it creates.

The gas oven's coming out, induction hob and air fryer going in and we have the Remoska for slow cooking. We will also use leccy for the water heating whilst on the move.

The price of solar has come down as well, my 2 x 425W panels came to £60 each.

Been using them for years Rob.

Started with i needed a way to keep the laptop and printer going when the wife had her business and we were away in the motorhome then after increasing battery quantity and going over to Lead Carbon along with good quality Sterling inverters everything worked and charged brilliantly.

Laptop, printer, tv, microwave, air fryer, cordless Dyson, Karcher window vac and most important of them all was the wife`s hair dryer.

The last item also was very beneficial to my health because the earache stopped vitually instantly but the bruises did take a little longer to go away

P.S.

For our pedantic members i have to state that the inverters were used sensibly and items were not all charged at the same :)

If you have excess solar harvest [in Summer in UK!], Rob, and an induction hob, you can always fill a couple of flasks with hot water that will still be warm enough for washing up the following morning. Saves lpg and reduces emissions, and recoups a few pence off the investment in the battery! :ROFLMAO:

No, I'll just turn the dishwasher on Steve.

(Been a long time since I've done that!) 😂
