Hi
I have a Reich mixer in the van kitchen.
I replaced the cartridge last year but the tap is still leaking.
So time for a new tap.
Does anyone have a recommendation?
Can I fit any domestic tap?
Is the piping the same size? I needed a 19mm spanner to remove.
TIA.
Regards

My son replaced the cartridge in our Reich tap a year or so back, however there is an electrically operated micro switch in the tap so I doubt if a domestic tap would suit.

No micro switch in mine.
Thanks
You have a pressurised system then, and you will have to match the pipe size when fitting any tap. So you can use any tap with or without a micro switch. You simply don’t bother with the micro switch if you buy a tap with one. Sometimes the pip size is on the pipework. You can use an adaptor but better not to do so. If in doubt about size remove tap and take it to a plumbers merchant.

In that case you can use any commercially available tap.
The tap 'tails' will sometimes be 15mm copper pipe so you'll need to adapt that to the 12mm pipe that's most likely in your motorhome. You can buy 15-12 mm push fit adaptors.
Typically though the taps will come with Flexi connectors that terminate with 1/2" BSP female threads, you'll need something like these.
These screw into the female thread on the Flexi tail and rely on the face of the fitting sealing onto the rubber/ plastic sealing washer in the back of the fitting. There's not a lot of flat area to achieve this but they are usually ok, especially if you can rub a file across the face to create a bit of a flat face.

Using a proper 1/2" male iron adapter like this
Gives a much larger face to seal onto the washer

but are only available in 15mm size so you'll have to push some 15-12mm adapters into them.

Ok, that's the 1/2" female threaded Flexi type that I mentioned and the tap has probably been swapped out once before already so you'll probably find the new tap is exactly the same. Most taps use those same flexi connectors now👍

Hi
Thanks.
The tap is the original as I had the van new in 2017.
Thanks again for all your help in the last couple of weeks.
Best
Martin
