hi yes kes is a good film, the only person in the film that i am not too keen on is the headmaster. unless you know the films background other than the well known cast, all the other players were taken from real life hence the headmaster. HE WAS MINE IN REAL LIFE ,the part he played in the film was tame to what he was as a real life headmaster. the school i attended was ashton road senior school at castleford w/yorks .
Wow mandrake, that was a real admission. You poor Sod. At least it hasn't affected you, because you're so nice.
I watched it with my 13 year old and he was a little horrified at the cane, the bullying teachers and Billys nasty brother. I read the book to him a couple of years ago, so he was really keen to see it.
By the way, it was just like the book they hadn't altered it.
the cane i was on the receiving side of his anger more than once the games teacher in the film was just like our games teacher as for me growing up normal well at least i have survived beyond puberty without any nasty side effects googoo blubber knash wimper and a beddy cf owner to boot i guess the latter qualifies??? me to enter a place of mental rehabilitation
