We don't have a dog so we aren't bovvered as it were. However if you have an electric vent fan in your camper roof which blows fresh air in, would that make it ok to leave doggy inside the van?
I fitted an electric extractor / impeller fan and it works brilliantly. Extracts fumes from kitchen, and blows cool air down when it's hot outside. And those with hair (not me) can dry their hair after a shower.

Personally ....

Not a chance I'd leave my dogs in a van relying on an electric vent ....

It's just not safe IMHO

Fuse blows or component fails ....

Let alone the possibility of theft or accident of some kind .

Don't have a problem leaving dog in van when I think it's ok .
Beamish , too long and carpark too far away.
Just been out for meal here in France and left dog .
Went to Auschwitz last year but too hot and too long to leave her .
You just have to use your judgement and know your dog
