Just saying hello!

I just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself. I'm Helen and a fortnight ago I became the proud owner of a bright green VW T4. I'm yet to camp in it as I'm still sorting it out. But I can't wait.

I bought it so my dog (Doris) and I can spend a couple of months going round Scotland next spring. Thought I'd have quite a few practices first.

I live near Machynlleth in Mid Wales so if anyone needs any sugestions of places to go in that area just ask!:)

hi and welcome to a great bunch of people and a great site

Hi Tony,
Bring your raincoat! You want to go up in the forestry above Pantperthog or Corris or Ceinws. Loads of suitable places. One I intend to try is by the Cregennen Lakes up above Dolgellau behind Cadair. It's got a free carpark with a loo! I've only gone for days there but it is lovely.
Go up the forestry on the back road out of Forge...good river for dogs!

Brilliant pub in Ceinws (Tafarn Dwynant). Huge wood burning stove, friendly people and EXCELLENT food (including veggie). The best bit is that Abby and Kev welcome dogs... in the dining room too! Ok I'm biased as it's my local. If you see a big blonde labradoodle in there come and say hi to Doris!

Hope this helps.
Croeso i Gymru!
Helen

ps. Don't do Cregennen if you've got a huge van! And come back down the way you went up...the Fairbourne side is very steep!
