Hi Just been to pick up our new M/H Roller Team 700, this is our first M/H and we very excited to take it out at the weekend for our first outing, Im sure we will have many questions etc and will be looking for some advice etc, Looking forward to some wild camping in the future too, just want to get on a CC site at first to get used to the van etc, If anyone has any advice etc for our first weekend I would love to hear it. Just wondering if anyone has any info about keeping a 7.3 metre van at home on our drive, is this ok ? has anyone had any hassle from neighbours etc, Im just concerned that it may make the busy bodies complain etc as we live in a small rural village !!

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom
You sure sound happy over your new MH. If your drive can take the MH, then that's fine. It is your property, so why not. It shouldn't be a problem. Step 1. Try it and see how it goes. Hit the road buddy and enjoy life. Drive safely and play safe.

Enjoy your van,Tom,and use your drive if you need to;), I had a word with my closest neighbour before picking up my van just to politely ask his opinion.

Mind you , my neighbours are heaven sent:rolleyes::)

A word of advice to you when wilding without electric hook up,;) make sure you switch to leisure battery to power habitation ancillaries , as I learned to my consternation this weekend:eek::(:D

Here,s a pic of the switch mine should have been set on this weekend...

The result of my mistake was a flat starting battery after two days camping:cool:

hi tws enjoy your first weekend away, you will find no-matter how well you plan your first trip you will always find you have forgotten something. also you may find that you need a few trips out before you get everything correct thats half the fun :D as for keeping your van on your drive, its your drive you can park what you want on it the only ones that may complain are the ones that may envy you take no notice i wouldn't main thing is ENJOY :D

Hi Tom,
We've had our rollerteam 700 for 10 months now and absolutely love it.
Beforehand i spoke to the neighbours and everything seemed fine, but that was before it arrived. We have had words but that's their problem.
The vans are great value for money but be prepared to sort out or get sorted a few niggles.
At first i was a bit heavy on the right foot, and the computer showed just 17mpg but now with the engine loosening up and driving a bit more carefully it is showing 23.5mpg, which i think is ok.
We try to get away as much as possible and the kids love it.
We do a mixture of sites and wild camping.
I was a nervous driver at first but a week in wales touring sorted that out. Just take your time and you will be fine.
Get out as much as you can and enjoy it.

Once bitten - you will never look back. It's a great life and for a while you will even enjoy being waved at by every passing MH. But the novelty wears off as the hand gets tired out ;)

Enjoy yourselves and remember life is for living - go for it. :D

first motorhome

hi tws
we have a autoroller 600g, think it's great.
i'd check the tyre pressures when you can as this is very inportant.
when i picked mine up the tyres only had 50psi in them the tyres continental say on the sides up to 70psi, considering the weight we carry i upped the pressures to 70psi.
i also think that this has a huge effect on mpg as many people with these rollerteam motorhomes seem to only get 17 to 20 mpg, so works for me.
just come back from europe where we did 3,000 miles and averaged 25mpg,
and wev'e only done 3,500 miles from new.
had no problems whatsoever with the van, looks big but when your on the road it's ok. the cruise control is great set it and it goes forever at that speed up hills without a complaint.
anyway enjoy.
ps the big fridge is fantastic;):D

about cruise control

the cruise control is great set it and it goes forever at that speed up hills without a complaint.
Warning about cruise control !
On several parts of Belgian motorways the use of cruise control is forbidden. (e.g E17 Ghent > Antwerp, the ring around Antwerp, E313 east of Antwerp, the ring around Brussels, E17 at Kortrijk....)Cruise control is also forbidden on all other roads.
Reason: daily accidents with trucks running into the back of another; too dense traffic, too many exits, too many queus...
If you should happen to be part of an accident; you are not covered by the insurance when police states cruise control was on !:eek::eek:
