Just fit LPG bottle but can u help?

Have just fit today MTH Alugas bottle then down to fill it up in the truck at the garage by me, the bottle stopped at 22.39 ltr`s =80% cost £11.62The man in the garage said that would have been £18.?? for 13kg calor bottle.Can some one please tell me what 22.39ltrs =in kgs.Regards john

Hi John, 22.39 litres is exactly 22.39 Kgs. That is: 1 Kg = 1 Litre. It is correct, they do fill the bottles to approx: 80 % of bottle size.

Have I got it wrong Bertie? I was under the impression 1 Kg of water is 1 Kg in weight. If it is not the same in reference to gas, my apoligies. Not too old to learn. Thanks for correcting me.

lpg is lighter than water i believe can't give exact figures but try gaslows website i think it says on there

looking at your own sums there i would actually say 2.15litres to the kilo

1 Kg weight of lpg is equivalent to 2lt liquid of lpg

Alternatively

1lt of liguid lpg weighs 500grams

That's very true, but isn't it "how much does 1 litre of gas weigh?" that needs answering (or more specifically, how much does 22.39L of gas weigh), judging by the original post?

you have got just over 11kg of gas . at our local gas depot it is 38p per litre so a kilo is just over 70p compared to calors extortinate price
