More information required. What sort of heater? Gas or Diesel? What have you done so far?

water
gas

whats it not doing or doing

Hi John,

I sent you a PM a while back with my contact details on. If you want to pop down with the van I can have a look at it for you. Two heads are better than one as they say.

I have a Hospital appointment this afternoon but the weekend is free if that suits you.

flush all your heating circuit through 1st, if you can ,remove your matrix and give it a good flushing out, reverse flush too checking for leaks! don't put your new thermo in til you've done that.
i have an ldv and the heaters are atrocious but i gave mine a really good flush out and then the induction pipe i changed for a flexi one so during cold weather i put it above the exhaust manifold so warm air passes over the hotter matrix instead of cold air having to be heated up, its improved the heating.:)

hope this makes sense and helps

have a look on the floor, up forward and central under dash. Have you got [hidden under carpet] a large gas tap type lever?. Some talbots have this as an on/off for the heater instead of the use of the slide control on the dash heater controls. It took me ages to suss it out on my van. I found it when replacing the carpet after suffering the heater being on all summer. HTH.
Paol.

sorry you didnt make it that clear for me i thought you ment the gas water boiler like a carver in the rear of van
