Johns cross/ auction of motorhome stuff

There's some good stuff on there Wully.

A few cheap batteries for auction on the last couple of pages as well as Cadacs, and refillable gas bottles.

As you say though, very sad.

Don't forget those are opening bids and then there are all the additional fees to add on.

You need to add 16% commission, plus 20% vat so 19.2% or if you prefer a £100 bid will cost you £119.20

On a MotorHome the vat is 5% so 26% or a £100 bid will cost £106.00

But potentially there are some savings to be had, watch out for postage costs.

I for one will be watching 7 lots.

2 for myself

and 5 to flip

If you so inclined, there’s a van load of eBay gems, but that’s not for me.

edited because I read slow 😉

Only thing i see wort a punt is the refill gas bottles, the batteries are at what I can buy trade.

I could grow to dislike you you know.
I had bought a few boat shops out 4/5 years back at buttons, still have some of the cr-p left in stock, mind you i made my money back and more first day home with the cr-p.

The gaslow kit will shoot up in price, but it’s worth keeping an eye on, I was trying to keep it quite but old size 9’s popped along ;)

I must be missing something here, maths/recconing was never my best subject, but, I thought 16% commission would make a £100 bid £116 payable plus 20%VAT takes the £116 up to £139.20. So a £100 bid would it not cost £139.2 payable ? or not ?

I think the VAT applies to the commission only, at least that's what it implies.

Colin is correct about the VAT.

If you were able to but some of the stuff near to guide price and sold on cheap, there would be a few quid to be made that's for sure.
