I have created a TomTom POI file for jetwash facilities in England, Wales and Scotland.

These are a mix of Total, Murco, Sainsburys and Tesco sites - 701 of them in all.

Jet wash

Hello CANALSMAN,
Saw this and thought I would have to comment.

I owned the company that made most of the Jetwashes you refer to and agree, this is the best way to clean caravans and motorhomes.

I have set up 3 of my own American style wash centres which are even easier to use for large rigs, myself owning a 34ft Allegro Bay!

Unfortunately none near Chesterfield but see index to see if you, or any other members, are out and about and near to these sites. The shampoos used are all Turtlewax and excellent at coated aluminium.

I have added the three sites into my database, and will update my TomTom POI file in due course.

Any suggestions as to how I identify other supermarket and garage sites?

Sure this will have raised its head before, but is it not potentially damaging to caravans / motorhome seals this jet washing malarkey ?

I have never jetwashed the van, due to this perception.

I must admit jetwashing would save me a lot of time.

If you use high presure washers I think that would damage seals. These washes have washbrush and you spray to wet and rinse off. No need to put high jet presure on the seals. In my experience not as much presure as some very heavy rain showers. REMEMBER to cover Heater and Water Heater side vents and the fridge vents.

I reckon it will take at least two washes to do my Hymer as I will need to move it to get the whole vehicle on the bay.
