we like portugal but unfortunately a quick glance at the weather records tells you that SE spain enjoys better winter weather

so we haven't been for a while , and then in the early spring , but last time we were there we found the pingo doce 'campsite':) at tavira very convenient for a few days

we are just considering our winter itinerary , and have heard that this spot is now a building site , and that everyone has therefore moved onto jack and jill

is this correct , and where is jack and jill ? doesn't ring a bell unless it is where all the french gather !

I think its called adam & Eve lol..Friend there just now not to many vans there.They were also told Pingo doce was closed for camping but who knows ... things change overnight and you can never believe what people tel you.
Adam & Eve is just before you go to Monte gordo going east there are 2 BP filling stations on the N125 turn right just before the filling stations I think there is a roundabout now they were working on it in April.You go up through the houses keep going left and then left at the end of the road you will see the vans there if you go right they are at the beach cafe and down in the trees as well.You can walk to Monte gordo along the beach or the path in the woods.

yes thats the one. the entrance to The beach is just at the roundabout...

If pingo is shut , just carry on to the 4 Aguas - about half a mile from there, great bird watching, couple of restaurants, little bar & the parking is great. plus you can walk up to Pingo for ya grub

Yes thats the turn off for Adam and Eve.
If you use that GPL pump beware when connecting up it was under pressure before pressing the green knob the other week.
 
I think you will find the majority of the wild campers at Manta Rota this year, there must have been close on 80 back a few weeks ago. A nice little place to stop a week or so and no problems.
