:help: Umm have been and bought a jay rail to put on our T4, thought this would be an easy option thinking that we could quickly either pop up the stand alone awning or a little canopy depending on situation or need. Now having gone to try out the channel in the awning - i'm thinking "am I missing something, there is no way that that will stay in the j rail channel???? I have scanned 'the net' for info' but am still lost. Is there something else I need to hold awning channel in place or have i just got it completely wrong. :rolleyes2:

j rail

i fiited a p rail to the side of my motorhome (stuck with sikaflex 521) drive away awning fitted no problem at all :p

You need a C section rail into which to slide a figure of eight into, a J rail is just like the rain gutter,

Thank you all for the information - will soon have this sorted then

j rail

hi

i bought a C section of plastic/nylon and screwed it to the side of the van, the awning bead then just slides into it just as it do'es on a caravan, job done.

tranivanman:)

My last drive away awning had a rod through the rear flap which attached to a J rail with midget G clamps. I repaced this with a C rail so I could fit a Fiamma zip awning (fits in a bag which slides into the rail). I also had a broad webbing strip with awning edge stuff (sure it has a real name)on one edge and loops on the other edge to mate with the drive away.
