hi just got back to the uk after sixmonths traveling round france and germany in our old classic camping car. 1984 mercades navajo auto trail, we covered just over 7000 miles and it never missed a beat .we had a fantastic time .
there are a few things i would like to fix on the old van .
1. we have a water leak it seems to be coming from the trims on the edges of the roof , i would like to replace with new trims.
2. we have had the door damaged (some one tried to break in ) now does not close properly as it seems to be twisted.
3.all so have a small hole in panel on back of van where scooter has moved on rack after going over road hump to fast.
4.we would like to replace some of the rubber to the side and back trims

so any help and advice would be wellcome.

the water leak is easily cured by resealing with silicone sealer ,i have done the same with mine, as for the door you can try and repair it if it is twisted you can always remove it and try and straighten it , as some older vans are hard to get spares for, i know my bedford is 27 years old so some items are repair only

if you use silicone then only NEUTRAL cure, not ACID cure, this will corrode metals especially ferrous. best to remove ali. trim completly and clean up, bed in new sealant coat screw threads in sealant but don t screw down too fiercely and sqeeze all the sealant out. the hole if not too large could be covered by a self adhesive or self tap screw fixed on sealant bedded red or yellow reflectors or a pair of matching reflectors fixed eqidistant from van centreline usually looks best.

OK thanks for your in put, think i now how to sort the leak now.Ive been thinking i will need to remove the old trim to fix the leak??? .So this would be a good to fit new aluminum trim that runs along the roof and down the back as it has been damaged over the year and fit new rubbers.
So where can i get them from???????.
