Italian ATMs

We usually use ATMs for cash when in France , recently we ventured into Italy with only a few Euros and tried to extract cash from an ATM with no luck, tried several others banks with the same result, back into France and the cards worked fine . Has any one got any experience of this and the proceedure for withdrawing money in Italy?

It’s because the Pope’s is over here probably, only mucking about Deer with no eyes mate?

Yes, specially in smaller towns only local bank cards are accepted. All our bank cards were no use around the Corvara area. Needed to go into big towns and shop around.

Hi, We have been spending a couple of weeks in Italy each year for 20 years and have only experienced trouble once, 3 years ago when the banks went into deep Whoopsy mode. We stay in a small town and my Nationwide flexi card works in banks, shops, etc.
We have also paid campsite fees by card in Florence, Pompeii & Venice with no problems.

Dezi
