For sometime now I feel I have exhausted anything that I have to offer in the way of any useful and informative views that may be of help to other members.
As I am away for approx. 2/3 mths I will gather my thoughts whilst touring and make a decision then.
Lets see how it goes .
I will say, I,ve never had so much fun with my clothes on, but its not all about humour.

one thing i love about this forum is the eclectic mix of subjects that come up .... from politics, to jokes, to receipes, to motor home engines, to routes, to upholstery, to ill-health and wealth and exercise and weight loss and computing issues and god, and jokes, and snakes and on and on and on...... dont give up here..... as you say have a break..... and come back refreshed..... who knows what question will arise in the autumn that only you will know the exact answer to.........

I think it's good when a respected poster leaves if they post that they are leaving to avoid unnecessary concern from those who follow their posts. Nothing to do with low self extreme (sic).

I read the OP to mean that he's going away for two months and during that time would consider whether or not to continue posting. I would imagine that without the warning he has given some would wonder why his posts have stopped, just as I said above.

au contraire, his esteem is doing fine
but he's up to something ....
 
There as been a couple of times I have been close to leaving feeling no longer any meaningful contribution and I know for fact one respected top poster has felt the same way ...external pressures whatever


Take a break which you are doing and have a think , posts can be sensible serious or nonsensical it doesn't really matter.

I believe I have friends here I have never met, I might know the odd bit of gas good practice and drive folk mad rest of the time. I don't have a van at present but that doesn't mean knowledge is wiped out we are not hard drives. so that's the motorhome bit ( no chance of earning a swift £50 )

I share my other interests, so I don't think and phil first to qualify there is no set formula for membership

At the end of the day you are ex forces so will do what you see fit ( worked with you sods) have a think and irrespective of what you decide a lot of folk will wish you well

crumbs there has been time when ifelt like saying bye but just ignored the remark and treated it with the conttempt it deserved NONE
 
I understand how you feel, I have thought the same but if you have a break and think about it things will be a lot clearer, I stopped posting for a long time and I didn't even log on to see what I was missing, the important thing is don't burn your bridges it will be easier to return, for what it is worth you still have a lot to offer this forum

You can't go Mike, who else am I going to cadge stuff off?

I contribute very little in the way of knowledge or expertise but by 'eck I get a lot of fun reading the threads and of course gaining the knowledge. Keep dipping yer toe in Mike, no point in turning your back on this bunch of crazies.
