The ISLE of WIGHT is right on my doorstep, so to speak!
There are 2 ferry companies to choose from:
1/ 'RED FUNNEL', 0844 844 99 88. This one is your best bet! Sails from Southampton and easy to find.
2/ 'WIGHTLINK', 0870 582 77 44. I am not sure they do 15mtrs or over.
I hope this is of some help!....Paol.

Thanks for the replys and info.I will keep you informed. 3 weeks to go

We were on the I.O.W. last September. It was an organised rally by the Burstner Owners Club, but we went by Red Funnel Ferries (we are nearly 24ft), and we stayed at a great campsite called 'The Orchards' at Newbridge. It is right in the middle of the Island, and there is a bus stop right outside the gate. I think the campsite does a deal for 'ferry & stay'. We did every town of interest, each day, on the bus,..but then we are 'oldies' and used our bus passes :D, so it cost us nothing.
It is a beautiful Island, and there are loads of campsites around..all public transport seems to go via Newport..the capital...lots of places of interst to visit. Hope the weather is kind to you, and you enjoy it as much as we did.
Jackie :)

cipro, Take a look at my meet on Hayling Island, Sept 11th-15th. You will be in spitting distance from us! Check out the details in the thread, as you may well be interested. 4 nights inc EHU on prime pitch etc. 50 quid all in!

Thanks Jackie, that is bang on with the ferry offers at the Orchards and we are looking at that now. Normally would take our bikes but we have the outlaws so we will use the bus etc
I am pleased motorhomes have been there so the roads can't be that
narrow :D:D. thanks again
Tim

Thanks but dates don't match up.

Ha Ha!! We took our bikes, but didn't dare ride them around the lanes. I'll swear the bus drivers were trained by Kamakhasi pilots :D. It is certainly an education riding on the top deck
However, the roads from the port to the campsite are fine..no probs at all, and for you 'outlaws', even the open top tour buses will accept their bus passes. (Provided they not either Wesh or Scottish!!how daft is that? I thought we were the 'United Kingdom')

Jackie:)

The roads on the Island are OK as long as you keep to the main routes, there are some scary little lanes if you wander off! As there is only one, very short bit of dual carriageway on the Island, Road accidents can mean very long waits if the road is blocked or Closed due to a fatality. I have spent many long, lazy days there and only ever had one 'hold up' on the roads. There are some very unique places to see! Have no worries about your trip. I know you will enjoy it! I am lucky to live just a ferry ride away!

I was there in May and had no problems driving my truck about, then things do tend to give me a wide berth.
