Is this a dealer to avoid?

looking through the ebay ads I came across this one

FIAT DUCATO 2.8 JTD KON-TIKI 665 SE VOGUE 6 BERTH 2006 on eBay (end time 04-Nov-09 17:02:00 GMT)

not sure if the price is on the high side, but I was impressed with the layout and as it was in Ilfracombe (well so it said) I thought we might go take a quick look.
I phoned the number and arranged to view it.
It is claimed to be the private property of the motortrader
Hansons 4 x 4 Garage, Combe Martin, North Devon (about 7 miles away so why say Ilfracombe)
No real reason to doubt that but he did mention he had other motorhomes for sale.
Out of interest I asked if it had needed the gearbox replacing or suffered any juddering problems. He replied you would obviously find fault with a brand new van and hung up.
I emailed them and was told to take my money elsewhere.
Now what is that all about, alarm bells start ringing!!! So if you are tempted do take care.

If it is a 2006 model, then it will not have the problem. It started on 2007 models.

I think you are right to be wary. Before I bought my first van, I rang up about a van online which was not far from me. When I said it was the wrong layout, the man said he was also selling a van on behalf of a friend and gave me a sob story.

The potential (tax free) profit on a big van is the reason for doing it this way.
