As there doesn’t appear to be any sensible options nearby. I’d like to go to the classic bike show in April and stop over.

They take MHs on the camping field. £156 pitch and 2 adults. I've just rung them as you reminded me about it. You must purchase camping tickets in advance.

WOW that is a lot of money to stay a night. Do you NEED to actually be on site? There are two CMHC CL's very close by, I would be trying to book a pitch on one of those ASAP. Or slightly further (not a lot) 2 independent campsites and a Camping and caravan club CL

£156 ! Ouch. But as any biker worth his salt will know - it is essential payments ;)

I will give it a close looksie before making a decision.

There is a large layby on the A518 not too far away, it's on the POI's. A bit further away is the Saracens Head pub in Weston which is also on the POI's.

i stayed on the racecourse campsite while a national antiques show was on there was a camping element to the show but the campsite was seperate

Make a weekend of it, pitch up then you are nicely fresh and relaxed having had a good nights sleep in your motorhome.

None of the getting stuck in traffic then fannying around trying to get parked up somewhere decent so a dickhead won`t block you in etc. etc. etc.

Followed by your perfect breakfast cooked to perfection then a nice easy stroll into the show.

Having had a long day you don`t have to queue up to get out of the car park so you can wander leisurely having a nosey at the other motohome set ups back to your motorhome where you know you`ll have another perfect evening meal.

Possibly evening entertainment on site with a few sherbets if that`s you style then stagger back to your comfortable bed.

Next day do it all again and you`ll see the things you didn`t see yesterday.

We used to do that at the Warner Motorhome Shows and had some fantastic weekends around the country.

I remember getting very relaxed (The stranger sat next to us had a nice single malt which he insisted on sharing) watching the "Illegal Eagles" at a Warner show and then being unable to find our MoHo.

After 20 minutes wandering, SWMBO had a brain wave,
"Ours is a white one" she announced "and we are parked next to another white one"

Ir worked within a minute we found our van !

A place I will recommend is just the other side of the A50, The New Broome. Pub with a campsite. Stayed there last year. Cheap with hook up too. Super friendly owner and great meal in the pub. (y)

Reminds me of a show on the East of England Showground, Peterborough which for people that don`t know it is HUUUUUUUUUGE and the biggest one they do 😱

Late on sunday afternoon wifey whilst cooking tea found she was short of a few bits so said she`d nip to the site shop and get some.

1 HOUR later i`m starting to get worried ( and hungry ) so i tried to ring her and heard her phone in the motorhome

I started looking up and down the rows and went over to the shop, no sign of here what so ever, now i `m really worried.

2 HOURS later she turned up absolutely knackered having walked around the showground several times trying to find her way back.

Being sunday afternoon a lot of people were packing up and going and the main one she used ( strange awning set up ) to turn left had packed up and gone so she just kept walking and walking and walking.

After that i bought a 10 meter extending pole and a Lancashire flag and had it stuck up so she could see it from almost anywhere on showgrounds.
