Which is your preference and favourite place(s) to wild / stay.

We are heading there for Christmas and New Year this year, starting in Dublin and have no experience except for 3 days in Dublin a couple of years ago.

When and where did you go ???

I live in the North and would say it is the best. The south is very expensive. If you are coming to the North you can get in touch by email and I will help with places as much as possible

Travelled around north and south in March 2008. I'm biased because we have friends in Cork and Limerick.

I enjoyed the north but for me a traditional one horse town in kerry with one shop/ post office, four pubs, Guinness and a big plate of cabbage and bacon with big fluffy spuds, heaven:D

Sounds good to me - I like the quiet life :p

Northern Ireland.

I was brought up in Enniskillen County Fermanagh. All i can say is go there you wont be disappointed. The Erne waterway is great and plenty of places to wildcamp, Any of the jetty signs leading down to the water are good for wilding but take your rubbish away after you. Go on a boat trip to Devenish Island, you can catch it from the Round O Quay and park your MH home there for free, Stop the night there also, walk into the town and try the GUINNESS. Blakes bar and plenty of restaurants, Francos is the Italian and is the place to eat.Have a good holiday.

Our Irish Travels

Just got back from a brilliant 2 week 1600 mile tour of the Emerald Isle, started in Rosslare (great council campsite in Wexford) worked our way up the East Coast to Rathdrum and Dublin, carried on up into the North thro' Belfast, Derry and Letterkenny stayng in sites and camping wild, visited the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills.
Then made our way back over the Boarder into North Donegal and found a fantastic welcome in a little seaside village called Dungloe! Off we set back down South into Kilarney (Ring Of Kerry & Dingle) where we based ourselves for 4 days, off then into Tipperary and down to Waterford (Tramore is great) back into Offaly (Mill House Pub Car Park Just outside Roscrea - brill food and beer) then back for one more night in lovely Wexford.
That was just a taster, we had a brilliant welcome everywhere we went and there doesn't seem to be a problem with wild camping :) to finish all I can say is "Roll on next year" we'll be back
