Can anyone recomend a good inverter just need charge phone and laptop i have 12 volt lead for laptop but takes for ever to charge i presume inverter would be quicker await thoughts cheers john:drive:
 
It depends on your laptop voltage and your lead. I don't think some of those leads convert 12V to 19v very well, hence slow charge.

But inverters step up 12v to 240v and your laptop charger takes it down to 9v or 19V so it's not particularly efficient either, though it will work better in charging time if your inverter is OK.

I use 1000W inverter but overkill for your application. You need 100 or 150W inverter

Or maplins maybe or ebay. They all cost about 35 to 50. Can't go wrong really. I have a Ring 150w as a back up and it performs well.
 
I've just brought one from ebay New 1200W 12V DC to 220V AC Car Power Inverter USB Port (320723269602) for £29.99 and it runs an 1100 watt grinder no problems.
