internet dongles & blinds

was surfing the net today and found that when my black out blinds were up the signal was down from 3g(fast) to 2g(slow)...tested it a few times and wondered if any one else had noticed,i suppose it depends on how strong the signal is or something to do with the direction of the signal because iv used the laptop on 3g with my blinds up before!!! wierd!!

Samm , i have a dongle on 3 mobile internet and that is fine most of the time,,ive even used it when out at sea while fishing,,what mikejay and i have found helps is putting an extension usb lead between dongle and laptop and then you can position it in the best place for signal in the van,,

Yeah you can stick it in a plastic bag and put it out of a roof vent when you have a usb extension .What you need is a hsdpa conection thats well faster than gps but it depends were you are if you get it on 3 its quite good and very fast.
