I'm about to renew my (car) insurance and if I didn't get the extras I could save a fortune. Do people think it's worth paying for No Claims Protection, Legal cover and whatever else seems to be an add-on? I know it'll be a case of "you'll be glad you've got it when you need it ... " but how many of you go for it?

Having been screwed over with not having ncb, for an accident that we couldn't prove was not our fault and was apportioned 50/50, I would always get this, aren't they making 'the extras' (legal etc), part of the insurance now on a lot of policies? They seem to have included it at no extra charge on our household policy, so wondered if its going to be across the board to make insurance clearer and more consistent.

Hi. I have NCB protection and legal cover and have benefited from both more than once over the years.

Don't forget NCB protection only applies to the company you are insuring with .At renewal if you have had a bump it still needs to be declared to a new insurer and your claim history will be considered ..thus not all it seems.

NO.

All Up-selling.

Well I do pay NCB protection sometimes as it's only a fiver. However it is NCB protection only, but when you renew they want to know of any claims you have had and then load the policy accordingly for accidents you have been involved in so NCB is of limited value.

Legal Protection :):) They will come knocking on your door (well phoning you all the time) if you have an accident wanting YOUR business. Think of it as No Win No fee insurance BUT your paying for it !!

Spend the money on a dash cam. Then you can prove that they were the idiots :drive: and we all like watching it on youtube too
